Mukherjee said that if the allegations concerning the Ghatal hospital are established during the inquiry, the government would take appropriate action. He also referred to an earlier instance involving a medical student who was allegedly ostracised after being diagnosed with HIV, saying that the Health Department had intervened after receiving a complaint.
