However, life had other plans, as Kristy was diagnosed with a disease that “no amount of money could cure.” Nikki questioned why she had to wait until she could finally take care of her beloved dog, only to lose her anyway. “I would have given everything I have just to buy you more time,” she said, adding that she would have traded anything for “one more year, one more month, even one more ordinary day” with Kristy.
