India’s economic outlook remains in focus as the RBI raises its growth forecast for FY27 from 6.6% to 6.7% while keeping benchmark interest rates unchanged. The outlook comes amid global uncertainty, the West Asia war, trade tensions, supply chain disruptions and a weak rupee. Speaking on Frankly Speaking, Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council member Professor Gourav Vallabh said global uncertainty remains a key challenge but maintained that India continues to be the fastest-growing major economy. Vallabh pointed to strong private consumption, capital formation and growth in the secondary and tertiary sectors.
