Four Indian crew members aboard ship Yasar witnessed a direct drone attack on their vessel near Russia’s Black Sea port of Novorossiysk earlier this week, according to a post by the Forward Seamen’s Union of India (FSUI) on X. The union said the ship came under “five successive drone attacks” and that, by “God’s grace,” no casualties were reported among the crew. Drawing attention to the constant threat faced by the seafarers, FSUI said, “Seafarers are not Hollywood or Bollywood heroes who always survive till the end.” “But how long can the safety of our seafarers remain at stake?” it asked.
