According to reports, the idea has been dubbed “copyright hacking”. The theory is fairly simple: if copyrighted music is clearly captured in a recording, automated copyright systems on platforms such as YouTube, TikTok or Instagram may identify the audio and potentially mute, restrict or block the resulting video.
