The left-handed batter, who played an 81-run knock against Afghanistan in the first innings of the one-off Test in June and scored over 700 runs for Gujarat Titans in the 2026 IPL, was added to India’s 15-man squad on July 28 but his participation was subject to fitness clearance. Sudharsan was scheduled to join the team in Colombo on Saturday, August 8, as he did not fly to Sri Lanka with the other Indian players on August 4. However, now he will miss India’s crucial red-ball assignment in the Island nation.
