In the new Instagram video, PM Modi said that just as people enthusiastically exchanged friendship bands on Friendship Day, they should now come together to honour India’s rich handloom tradition. He further encouraged citizens to buy and wear handloom products, saying that every purchase strengthens the livelihoods of lakhs of weavers while preserving the country’s centuries-old cultural heritage.
