Repair work on a stretch of the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway near kilometer marker 64 has snowballed into a political controversy, after photos of 10 electric fans set up to dry freshly laid patchwork went viral on social media. Samajwadi Party national president and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav shared the images on X, taking a swipe at the state government. “This is the new wind of BJP-style progress,” he wrote, questioning the construction quality of the expressway.
