What Sparked the BBC Lawsuit
The original lawsuit against the BBC centers on a documentary called “Trump, A Second Chance,” which included a scene splicing together lines from Trump’s speech on January 6, 2021. The edited clip made it appear as though Trump had directly told his supporters to storm the Capitol. The BBC has since apologized for how the clip was edited, but the network maintains that the defamation claims against it don’t hold up.
