Stop Complaining. Adapt: Stuart Barnes' Blunt Verdict On T20 Cricket Every Fast Bowler Must Hear | EXCLUSIVE

“Well, the craft of fast bowling, I’ve always felt, is based around four principles: pace, bounce, lateral movement and accuracy. In T20 cricket, there’s a need for all four. Now you might only need all four for one ball, then go for a bounce on the next ball, then go back to lateral movement, and so on. So the game moves forward much more quickly in T20 cricket in many respects. But I do believe the core skills that are required in T20 cricket – decision making, constructing an over, defending the last two balls of the over, gaining momentum, pushing pressure onto the batters- it just looks a bit different. So I don’t always subscribe to the idea that playing one format of the game necessarily means it’s to the detriment of the other,” the 56-year-old mentioned.
