According to the report, the procedures included force-feeding through a tube inserted via the nose into the stomach, intravenous hydration, involuntary blood tests and the collection of urine samples. In each case reviewed by The Guardian, DHS sought emergency court orders allowing detention staff to restrain detainees while the procedures were carried out.
