A portion of the wall of the historic Ahmed Shah Badshah (Old Jama) Mosque, built in 1414, collapsed early Saturday morning amid continuous rainfall in Ahmedabad. The section of the wall facing the Prohibition and Excise Department office gave way. While no injuries were reported and a major mishap was averted, the incident has caused significant damage to the centuries-old heritage structure.
