The case was filed at the Devarajeevanahalli Police Station; the complainant, 37-year-old Pakeerappa, is a Superintendent with the Karnataka Slum Development Board. He had been deputed as the Supervising Officer for the SIR exercise in Ward No. 47 of the Pulakeshinagar Assembly constituency, where he was overseeing the work of 11 Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
