“I’m always grateful for that effort that he made, because it was just before the World Cup started. And I wanted to do dinner around it. And I had a sponsor who wanted to do an evening of that nature around the World Cup. And so we debated: should we do it at the end of the World Cup? Or should we do it during, or find a time before? And thankfully, it looked best to do it three days before the World Cup, because all the teams were in Johannesburg, and that’s where we were having the event. Because I think two days later, he failed the drugs test, if you remember, and he went home,” the 59-year-old went back in time to reveal one of his final personal encounters with him.
