The major showdown began with LoP Rahul Gandhi’s speech in Lok Sabha, where he targeted the Union Home Minister, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and the RSS. Several parts of the LoP’s speech were expunged by Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla, upon uproar in the House. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju slammed the LoP’s remarks, calling them “unparliamentary” and demanded that Rahul Gandhi must uphold the dignity of Parliament before making unsubstantiated comments.
